Aquatic Algaecides

Captain / Captain TM: Use this effective chelated copper product on surface algae for a fast kill. Mix desired amount of CaptainTM with water in a sprayer and uniformly spray over the infested water surface. Best results are achieved when applied early on a calm, sunny day. Heavy infestations should be treated in sections with a 5-7 day ''rest'' between treatments to avoid oxygen depletion. Contact effectiveness is enhanced with a Surfactant (see associated product) to help penetration and adhesiveness of the algaecide. |

Cutrine: Use this contact algaecide to control algae before it reaches the surface of the water. The pellets are broadcast directly on the submerged algae for easy application. Use 30 pounds for 1/2 surface acre. Apply early morning on a calm, sunny day. Early treatment in the spring when weeds begin to grow provides best control. Filamentous algae will usually require re-treatment for season long control. |

Sonar AS and PR is a highly effective systemic herbicide for control of most aquatic vascular plants. It is most effective when the water flow and discharge is minimal. Application is easy - simply pour into water body at several locations. Plants should be actively growing (water temperatures above 65 degrees Fahrenheit). Use Navigate herbicide for control of certain aquatic weeds in: ponds; lakes; reservoirs; and marshes. This product is designed to selectively control the weeds listed on the label. While certain other weeds may be suppressed, control may be incomplete. Reduced control may occur in lakes or ponds where water replacement comes from bottom springs. Sculpin G is formulated on biodegradable granules that, when applied to water bodies, immediately delivers the herbicide down to the critical areas for controlling target weeds. There are no restrictions on the use of treated water for recreational purposes, including swimming, fishing and domestic purposes. There are no restrictions on consumption of treated water for potable use by livestock, pets, or other animals. |

Aquashade is a blend of blue and yellow dyes which shades specific portions of the sunlight spectrum (red-orange and blue-violet) required by underwater aquatic plant and algae growth. This shading inhibits photosynthesis in young, bottom growth and may prevent development altogether if the color is maintained throughout the early season. Primarily effective in water deeper than two feet, floating plants such as lilies are unaffected by this product if they have already reached the surface.??Use in conjunction with herbicides or algaecides for control of surface algae mats or shallow-water plants.
